 Reading habit should be developed in school children .Reading is the most important activity for any children . There is no doubt about it.Books give a vask knowledge on any subject . So children can get more information from books. This helps them to write better answers for any question . We can read different views of experts on the subject . We can read lleisurely at our own speed. Also reading gives some enjoyment for the children . It improves their imagination . Now there is a lack of interest for reading among children . The main reason is the busy life they lead.After school they go for tution . So,they have no time to go to library and read books. Another reason is television . They spend too much time in front of TV. They like it very much because they can see visuals.Also it is very attractive . SomSometimes they play games for hours.   Vesak is an important religious festival celebrated by Buddhists all over the world. Vesak falls one the full moon poya day of the month of may. People celebrated the Birth,Enlightenment and passing away of Lord Buddha.These are the three great events in the life of Lord Buddha,the religious leader of Buddhism . PPeople celebrate vesak in various ways.We all go to temple on this day.Many people observe sil.Some people organize  'Danselas ' and give foods and drinks freely. People erect pabadols at public places.They depict Jathaka tales. They teach us a moral lesson . They are illuminated with thousands of ccolourful bulbs. We all light caly lamps at home. We make vesak lanterns and hang them around our houses . We all live in peace and harmony during vesak festival .🌸🌕

 MY grandparents live in Kandy.so,every year once a three months we visit them.It is one of the most enjoyable event in my life.This year we could not went there because covid situation.so,im very sad.my grandparents , uncle ,aunty ,sister and brother live there.they are very happy to see us.they welcome us warmly .when we go there me and my mother prepare many foods.they most like to eat my coconut cake.I like very much the food my grandma prepared . There were different food items.we all helped her to prepare food.she make 'peni walalu' what is many tasty food. When we go there  i climb a mountain with two sisters and brother .when we in top we see PERADENIYA BOTANICAL GARDEN . it is most eye catching place.it is very cold and windy place.after that we go to paddy fields.there is a ' ela ' in there.we jump to it.and we pick many fruits . And  we all go to Temple of the Tooth Relic.not only that,we go around peradeniya campus , gannoruwa gampola etc.we enjoy much. Thus...

 We have a lot of leisure time activities . Som of them are gardening ,reading books,watching TV,browsing internet ,drowning etc.some of them are very popular . Gardening is an interesting leisure time activity . It gives us a lot of exercises . Also we can get fresh fruits and vegetables. We can earn some money by selling our produce too. Also ggardening gives us a lot of mental happiness . Reading is another important leisure time activity . We can enjoy by reading a story book or a fairy tale. This activity improves our knowledge too. So,this is a very suitable activity for all. Watching TV is another interesting activity . We can see dramas,film,cartoon etc.but we must not spend too much time on watching TV. We all should have a leisure time activity since our boby needs some kind of a physical and mental relaxation .

  Kandy is a beautiful city in hill country . It is the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha was the last king of our country . He built his place and the temple of tooth in Kandy. So kandy is a sacred city. Many tourists visit kandy every year. Specialy Buddhists come to worship Temple of the Tooth as it is the most sacred place for them .A beautiful 'perahera' is held every year.It has many items related to our culture .Maligawa tusker carries the casket containing the Tooth Relic on its back. Kandy city is full of nature beauty . There is a lake on one side. There is a forest on the other side. There are tea estates around this city.its climate is very comfort for living .For these reasons Kandy has become a popular tourist destination.

 Our country Sri Lanka is a small country in the whole world.But our great engineering achievements astonish the whole world.We have e proud traditional and a civilization . According to the historical evidence ,the early settlers founded villages in the dry zone.There the land was flat.Their main occupation was agriculture .Rice cultivation depended on rain.Rain could be abundant in one season and fail in the next.TTherefore our ancient rulers realized the neet to  store water.There aim  was to manage water and production of rise.Thus they build huge tanks like oceans.Then they build a network of small tanks and distributed water.The kings wanted to make the maximum use of water. We all know what the king Parakramabahu the great said .Do not let a single drop of rain go to  sea unused .They archived their aim and made the country self sufficient .  WE must protect endangered animals 🐯 It is very important because these animals face to high risk of extinction.We will not be able to see them in future .Their numbers are decreasing rapidly  due to sevaral reasons.🐿️  Poaching and pollution are some of them.Some animals have disappeared completely.Eg: Dinosaurs 🦕. Human beings are responsible for the extinction of many animals .They kill animals to various purposes.They get meat,skin,horn fur,tusk etc. We must reserve National parks for animals.They are very important.Animals can live freely in these jungles.They roam here and there,they can find food an shelter . Their numbers will increase.There is no threat to their lives. We also can do a lot of things to protect endangered animals.We can educate people through posters and leaflets.We can organize seminars to make people aware of the value of protecting animals . I am here to speak a few words on the topic " SAVE WATER TO SAVE LIFE " . As we all know,water is the most essential besic need for all living beings.We can live without food for few days. But we can noot live a single day without water.Apart from drinking there are many other uses of water.
